Little Girl
Little Girl is alone today
Because there is no child who wants to play.
Another day has gone by
And little girl sits and cries.
At only the age of six or seven
She longs so much to go to heaven.
Everyday it's sticks and stones
Everyday, all alone.
Her cute little smile faded away
When someone special left one day.
The other children still don't want to play
All they do is look away.
Daddy cries all day long
So little girl sings herself a song.
On the playground she looks for hours
To find just the right flowers.
Little girl leaves the playground and turns down a dirt path
She won't even look back...
All her pain and sorrows left along the road
As she comes nearer to the abode
Where her special someone is waiting for her and always will be...
Little girl says, as she comes to the stone,
"Here are your flowers mommy, I picked some more pretty ones...the ones that
remind me of you."
She reads that stone each and every day, which says:
"Katharine Wells--Loving Wife, mother, and daughter.--In our hearts always."
