JOHN'S 2ND STORY

Hello folks;

I'm the guy that wrote "John's Story". I have another one to tell you if you would care to read it. Apparently I seem to be able to draw in those from the other side.

In 1986 I was invited to attend the "Michigan Firefighters Weekend" in Emmitsburg Maryland. It's located at the National Fire Academy and the site was originally used by a lady named Elizabeth Seton to run a convent and school. Her old house is still on the site along with a cemetery containing priests, nuns, and students who had passed away. Elizabeth Seton was canonized by the Catholic church and her original burial place and tomb are still there on site.

On the last day I was there I had finished my lunch in the dining hall and decided to walk over to Mother Setons house to look at it. Very old structure with the original old style glass windows. I had some time to kill before my next class so I thought "why not". As I was at the front door the door opened and a nun, about 70 years old, shorter, with the old style "penguin" type habit opened it and asked me if I wanted to tour Mother Seton's home. I accepted and walked in.

The nun went on to describe the place, showing me the red rope over the bedroom where Mother Seton had died and then took me into a chapel area. She pointed with her right hand and asked me if I wanted to kneel at the altar where Mother Seton knelt. I thanked her but told her I didn't exactly feel worthy to do that. I told her I had to get back to my classes and thanked her again. She closed the door behind me and locked it. I should probably tell you that this woman looked as real as you reading this. Solid and everything.

Flash forward to 2002 where I was taking an Emergency Prep class at Michigan State Police Post in Lansing. The guy that was observing the class was a VP for FEMA who operates the Fire Academy. During a break I was talking to him and commented that I had been there before and how nice it was to have the nun give me a tour. He immediatly started laughing and said "You must be one of the ones!" I said "one of the ones what?" He said that they have many reports of a nun inviting in a student to the house for a tour, but that the house is closed and locked. He said otherwise the Firefighters would never get their classes done because they are touring the house. He then told me "You got yourself a tour of that house from a ghost!" He said they had stories about that for years. The site does have a history of paranormal activities. So if you happen to be out there stop by and check it out. The house is still there right at the entrance on your left as you go in. White two story place. And yes this is true and not made up.
