Creatures of the Night
When I walk through the night
I try to avoid all the lights.
I look for creatures both big and small
to help my hunger, my thirst.
As I am walking I see the most beautiful creature;
With the most outstanding features.
I know you can see me, but not too well.
"Come closer." I say and you do as I tell.
As you walk towards me, I can hear your heart pounding and blood rushing.
It's hard for me to remain calm because it's so tempting.
My hunger is like a raging monster that I cannot control.
I must have you...
You're body is so sleek and I know it's hard for you to speak.
You don't know why you do as I command but you follow my hands...
They direct you toward me.
The closer you get, the more you regret not staying home that night;
As your face shows the look of fright.
"It's all right." I say.
Once said, you look away.
That's when you're within my grasp
And there's no turning back.
Once I grab you, you begin to scream.
I cover your mouth and open mine...
Moving your long brown hair from your neck, that's when I bear
My long, pointed teeth...
I whip my neck around and then bite down.
I suck in your sweet blood that quenches my thirst.
As you wrapped your arms around my neck it hurt, at first, but then you gave in
with pleasure.
I continue to drink as you become weak...
Your arms, once around my neck, fall lifelessly beside you.
You think you're life is through, but it is not...
I am sure not to drink your last drop.
When I finish, I take you back to my home and put you to bed.
You awake in the morning and still feel weak, but dead.
You're wondering if you are just dreaming and you realize you're not.
You climbed out of your bed and in my chair, I turned my head.
"Where am I? What's happened?" you asked.
"I've chosen you, my sweet, to be my companion for life. As I am a creature of
the night...I am over a thousand years old...but it's hard for you to behold." I
reply.
You kneel down and start to cry, blood red tears...
"It's all right, I will take care of you forever. I will love you and cherish
you...but here, you're weak, take a drink." I say as I offer you my wrist.
"I am a bit thirsty." You say and take the offer.
You stay bitter towards me for quite some time but then begin to trust me.
I show you how we must live for eternity...A life of hunger and lust.
Searching for creatures to quench the hunger, the thirst;
But after daylight, for we are creatures of the night!
